About Faculty of Commerce:-
Faculty of Commerce was established in 1971. In 1986 Post- Graduate of Commerce, in 1990 M.Phil. (Commerce), and in 2013 Center for Higher Learning and Research in Commerce was Started. Now, Center of Higher learning and Research (CHLR) known as a Institute of Higher Learning Research and Specialized Studies (IHLRSS). In the beginning Faculty of Commerce has conduct classes in Marathi Medium only. After that in the year 1993-1994 English Medium has Started. At Present the total strength of Faculty are 1547 Students including PG Level (1231 Students in B. Com and 316 Students in M.Com.) one of the leading Faculty in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli District and also in Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. The Faculty has running Institute of Higher Learning Research and Specialized Studies (IHLRSS). Total 13 Research Scholars were awarded Ph.D. Degree from the establishment of Research Center. Currently 24 Research Scholars are perusing their Ph.D. Under the different Guides and under the Subject of Business Management and Administration, Business Economics and Commerce Board. The well qualified Staff including qualified CHB Lecturers is the assets of the Faculty.
Vision:-To Inculcate the sprite of co-operation and healthy competition amongst the Students. Mould the Students towards creativity and excellence with dedication, devotion and discipline. Ensure physical, mental and moral growth and development of the Students. To develop into a world-class centre of excellence in Education, Training and Research.
Mission:-To build a perfect platform for Students and work as a friend , guide and philosopher with them. The Faculty of Commerce constantly encourage Students to innovate and creative things that ensure the value for quality education. Creating healthy environment for teaching, learning and research activities. Generating and providing resources and facilities to the Staff and the Students for generating innovative ideas. The mission of the Sardar Patel Mahavidyalya, Chandrapur Faculty of Commerce is to promote learning Culture in both Students and Research Scholars to achieve excellence in specialized education. Providing excellence in Commerce education at the under-graduate and post –graduate levels. So that it create meaningful contributions to career and Society.
Aims and Objectives:-
- To create healthy relation between all the Students and Staff of Faculty of Commerce.
- To provide proper guidance to the Students which can help them to explore their hidden talents.
- To provide Job Opportunities through Campus Interview.
- To provide Career Guidance for the Students.
- To provide Students Practical based knowledge by visiting various Industries, Banks etc.
- To enable our Students to face the challenges and emerge successfully in this ever dynamic era of Globalization.
- To prepare Students to achieve their ultimate goals.
- To undertake social responsibility towards poor, old and needy people and society.
- To provide a platform for enhancement towards Social and Cultural Activities.
- To engender meritorious Students from the Society.
Permanent Faculty:-
1. Dr. R. K. Sawlikar
Associate Professor Dr. R. K. Sawlikar is working as a Head, Faculty of Commerce at Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur since 2005. He has completed his M.Com in First Division and Cleared SET(UGC) Examination in the year November 1995. He has authored 19 Text-Books including One Reference Book. These Text-Books and Reference Book are recommended by RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. He has awarded Ph.D in Commerce (Topic: Impact of Urban Co-operative Bank in Chandrapur) on 24th January 2012 from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University, Nagpur under the Guidance of Dr. V. S. Ainchwar former Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. Under his guidance Two (02) Research Scholars are awarded Ph.D from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur and Four(04) Research Scholars are persuing Ph.D in Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.
Dr. R. K. Sawlikar has a recipient of ‘Bharat-Ratna Sardar Patel Puraskar’ from Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhai Patel Pratisthan, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Yuva Kalyan Mantralaya Bharat Sarkar Jayamala Nagar B-104 Old Sangwi Pune-27 on 4th November 2012 and recipient of Dr. Manibhai Desai Best Teacher Award (Maniratna Shikshak Gaurav Award 2012) at Dr. Manibhai Manavsewa Trust, Shindavane Road, Uruli Kanchan, Tal. Haveli Distt Pune 412202 on 2nd October 2012.
Dr. R. K. Sawlikar is the Member of Board of Studies for Business Management and Administration of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. He is the Member of Indian Commerce Association (ICA) and also a Member of Maharashtra Commerce Association.
Dr. R. K. Sawlikar is a Co-ordinator of Chartered Accountancy Examination at Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur and also a Co- ordinator of Tax-Consultancy (GST) Certificate Course run by Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur. He has appointed as a Member of Various Committee at Mahavidyalaya.
Dr. R. K. Sawlikar has Presented 14 Research Papers in Various Conferences and Seminars. He has published 12 Research Papers in UGC Listed National and International Journals.
2. Dr. Mrs. S. R. Weginwar
Associate Professor Dr. Mrs. S. R. Weginwar is working in Faculty of Commerce at Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur since 2007. She completed her M. Com., M. Phil (Commerce) in First Division and has awarded Ph.D. in Commerce in 2014 under the guidance of Dr. K. B. Moharir, Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur. She has authored 09 Text-Books. Under her Two (02) Research Scholars are persuing Ph.D in Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. She has published the Research Papers in various National Conference and Seminars. She has Published 16 Research Papers in National and International Journals. Apart from above she is having two prestigious awards to her Credit. She is the Member of Accounting and Statistics Board of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. She is a Director of Board of Management at Shri. Kanyaka Nagari Sahakari Bank Ltd. Chandrapur. She is a Co- ordinator of ICSI Study Center at Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur. She is appointed as a Member of Various Committee at Mahavidyalaya.
